1. Name
The name of the organisation shall be:
East Anstey Community Centre.
2. Aims
– To manage a club to foster a community spirit in
the village of East Anstey and surrounding area.
– To be held at Allways End Hall as the chosen
venue for the club.
3. Committee
The Committee shall consist of a minimum of five
and a maximum of seven members.
The Committee shall include the following:
An East Anstey Parish Councillor
A member of the Methodist Church
A member of St Michael’s Church
A member of the Anstey Women’s Institute
A member of the Garden Show committee
Two community members
The Officers of the Club shall include:
Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer
Committee meetings shall be held twice a year.
One third of committee members must be present to
form a quorum (minimum three members).
All committee members are elected for a period of
one year. All committee members will retire at the
AGM but may be re-elected.
4. Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM shall be held once a year. Public notice
must be given at least 7 days before the AGM.
The AGM will:
– hear reports of the year’s work from the committee
receive the Treasurer’s report on the accounts for
the year
– accept the resignation of the outgoing committee
– elect committee members for the forthcoming year
– appoint the independent examiners for the accounts
for the coming year.
5. Voting at AGM
All members of the community are entitled to vote.
Voting shall be by a show of hands. In the event of
a tie the Chairman or an appointed deputy shall
decide
6. Amendment
The constitution can be amended with a majority vote
at the AGM.
7. Assets/property/effects
These are the responsibility of the Committee at all
times who shall see they are maintained in good
order
8. Income/expenditure
This is the responsibility of the Treasurer and
Committee. Proper accounts shall be kept, tabled at
each Committee meeting and AGM. Accounts should be
independently examined annually by a suitably
qualified person who is not a member. The
accounting year shall run from 01 April to 31 March.
A bank account shall be opened in the name of the
organisation and the signatures of two committee
members will be needed for cheques to be drawn on
the account.
9. Dissolution
The organisation may be dissolved if deemed
necessary by members in a majority vote at an AGM.
Funds and assets remaining shall be distributed to
local charities at the Committee’s discretion.
